SpamAssassin allows you to limit the spam e-mails in your e-mail account, using a score system for each incoming e-mail. The score is the sum of several parameters, called tests, which are daily downloaded from several official websites and checked, according to specific rules.
The system scans the incoming e-mails with a specific score. The default level is 5 and it represents the level of sensibility used to detect spam e-mails. The lowest is the value the more sensitive is the email filter.
You can enlist a specific e-mail account or domain in a whitelist, so that all the incoming emails from that specific account or domain will always be accepted, or in a blacklist, so that all the incoming e-mails from that specific account or domain will always be automatically routed to the spam folder.
You can set SpamAssassin to:
- Route spam emails in the spam folder automatically
The filter will check e-mails, with no modification, and route them in the dedicated folder. All emails in the spam folder will be deleted automatically in 10 days - Delete spam emails automatically
The filter will check e-mails and, if considered as a spam, delete them automatically, with no additional notification - Modify spam e-mails header
The filter will check e-mails and, if considered as a spam, add ***SPAM*** in the e-mail header.
